Reworked a previous painting and replaced the "Ka" sign with the C3P0 head. A tongue-in-cheek critique on how George Lucas used Tagalog words for some of the Ewoks' language, thinking that nobody would be able to place such an obscure language. But what happens with you add a bit more stereotype in the mix?

I managed to triple book myself on March 10th, 2012. This is like the 5th time I have done to myself. Often times people approach me well in advance and they all sound good, so I answer with an enthusiastic "yes!"

I need to carry a calendar, or at least use the calendar feature of my iPhone.

One of the shows was the opening reeeption of "Microcosm" at Thumbprint Gallery.

I showed two older works and one new one for the show.

This piece is influenced by the earlier piece I have done for the show at the Glasshouse in Pomona, "Part of your world." I want to be mindful to work in similar themes. This way, my work is not all over the place and can act like a series. It's good practice for me to focus on execution and critical thinking in painting a piece and also keeping in mind, having a good solid series of work for my portfolio.

(The coolest part of March 10th was, as I was the guest speaker for an all female panel board for the women in the Hip-Hop movement (which I will write later,) was being up on the stage and getting a text from the curator that one of my paintings was sold.)

In conjunction to our show was a solo show of Mr. DVICE who in a short amount of time, produced a series of work that was vibrant, beautiful, and impressive. He filled up the other half of the gallery and was a solid showcase.

California Winter at Disneyland

FINALLY got to see Disneyland during Christmas time after all these years! I didn't take as much pictures as I should but we were having too much fun to even think about documenting anything!

The last time I have ridden the teacup ride must have been when I was 13.

My new mini ornaments on my baby rosemary Christmas tree! Afterwards, I am going to replant the tree and start my herb garden.

Back at my office, my newest nutcracker. Kato, the sumo wrestler. Yes, I collect Asian warrior nutcrackers. hahaha!

2 more days til Christmas! Can't wait to spend time with my roll dawgs.

Zombies Take over Long Beach

 Jason Liwag and Garry Booth of Phone Booth Gallery are co-curators of this year's Zombie Art Show. This show was by invite only and I am happy and honored to be chosen to show this year. i am a huge fan of horror flicks and zombies happen to have a special place in my heart. (Not really. Like I wouldn't welcome one in open arms. I am the first to blast a shotgun to it's face.) But I digress...

This idea came from a friend of mine in the East Coast. She jokingly said I should do one of a zombie biting a boob. Ha! Okay, well I did and added a bit of a twist to it.

Come out and not only see my piece in person but to check out the dozens of wonderful artists on display at the Zombie Show. And if it weren't enough, the opening reception is happening the SAME night as the Downtown Long Beach Zombie Crawl and Music Festival!

 Come dressed as a zombie or bring a camera as hundreds take to the streets of Downtown Long Beach. Listen to live music. Check out the film fest. October 29, 2011. But also remember that the artshow will be free!

This is a line from the book; I don't really believe this line nor do I think this way but I thought this quote was interesting to illustrate and sums up the mood of the book nicely. Check out "Invisible Monsters" about a fashion model who had an accident and lost her lower jaw. She meets a transexual man and has an unlikely friendship, as she teaches the model to feel fabulous and beautiful again, regardless of the deformity.

I am so freakin' glad that Oinkster is relatively far from me. I grew up loving pastrami sandwiches because of my father. It seems more often than not, my father would come home from work at about 3:30 and bring me home something; a box of paper to draw, new crayons, a clip for my hair.

or a pastrami sandwich.

and we don't fuck around with eating pastrami sandwiches. we straight up want pastrami, mustard, sometimes grilled onions in a toasted french roll.

don't give me that shit in them square pieces of white bread untoasted. boo.

i like em just like how Oinkster has them... except they put Guyere cheese which i have learned to accepted as being beyond okay; it's yummy. and i'm also ecstatic to know that the place is owned by chef andre guerrero who is pinoy and also own's Marche in LA. very inspiring to know about that!



and those fries... crispy. not too greasy. with the chipotle ketchup and garlic aoili dip. yummmmm...



I had a chance to share that with my godson and my niece. it seems like time is going so damn fast and their growth is indicative of that.

if you are a hustler, be productive. do more with less. maximum result with minimum effort.

but always also try to pin down time for the moments that matter.
