She is a goddess beyond definition. I have the utmost respect for Sade, as a songstress, an artist. So whenever I hear that someone is going to do a cover of one of her songs, I don't take it seriously. Well, not so much to that extent of "not caring" but I take it for what it is. I mean, nobody can really do a Sade cover and hella run with it.

Until recently.

This cat named Sandbloom came to NOMMO and busted out the most rich-bodied, smooth cover of Sade's "is it a crime".

Holy-mutha-fuckin shit... It made me cry. It made me curse. It's that good.

I remember the first time I heard it, we were all looking around the room saying "oh shit! he's covering sade." that is how much he put his own little spin to it.

He did justice to her piece.

This cd has been on repeat for the past 72 hours. I am loving it...

The original lyrics...

Sade - Is It A Crime Lyrics
This may come, This may come as some surprise
but I miss you
I could see through, all of your lies
But I stll miss you
He takes her love, but it doesn't feel like mine
He tastes her kiss, her kisses are not wine, they're not mine
He takes, but surely she can't give what I'm feeling now
She takes, but surely she doesn't know how

Is it a crime
Is it a crime
That I still want you
And I want you to want me too

My love is wider, wider than vitoria lake
My love is taller, taller than the empire state

It dives and it jumps and it ripples like the deepest ocean
I can't give you more than that, surely you want me back

Is it a crime
Is it a crime
That I still want you
And I want you to want me too

My love is wider than vitoria lake
Taller than the empire state
It dives and it jumps
I can't give you more than that, surely you want me back

Is it a crime
Is it a crime
That I still want you
And I want you to want me too

It dives and it jumps
And it ripples like the deepest Ocean
I can't give you more than that
Surely you want me back

Tell me
Is it a crime
