my weekend synopsis:::...

1. the performance at the j paul getty museum was magical. here we are, LA Enkanto, performing at this 2 billion dollar venue. the theater was so beautiful and the people we worked with (the producers, stage manager, techs, director) were so professional and friendly. we packed the house! sold out show! they totally loved us and want us back for future venues.los angeles poetry is being heard! correction: los angeles poetry from FILIPINOS is now being heard! photos will be up soon.

2. saw frida with don and dj on saturday. (the company don works for worked on the the movie). it was superb! salma was excellent as frida! i loved how they implemented her paintings into the storytelling. some people didn't like it as much but i think that it was subtle enough to convey the connection to her life without being too tacky. the cinematography was excellent as well.

3. i was so inspired watching frida that i changed into my painting clothes and stayed home saturday night to paint. i sometimes get intimidated to paint because if i am not happy with my piece, i felt of i have desecrated the canvas. but after watching the movie and (remembering what i have read on her and diego's biographies) i realize that i should just paint just to paint; let the painting come to fruition. i started a new four part series (even though i should finish my other series) and i can't wait till i piece them together.

4. after talking to irene , i have decided to take a class in filmmaking. phloe and i have a few things up our sleeves that we want to do.

5.had a couple of business meetings this weekend. yup, alfie has nailed a couple of freelance jobs! wooo hooo!

6. i am helping the book release party for monster. let's just say that it will not be your typical book release/reading event. i will explain more later. (wink wink)

thank you so much for my friends and family who have been so supporting and encouraging with my art. i am so truly blessed to have you in my life... (heavenly father, i praise you and exalt your name to the highest.) really, i have been blessed with some awesome comrades.
