Flashback: Zombie Art Show 2011

As promised, here are the pictures from the 2nd Annualy Zombie Art Show in Long Beach.. Yea, yea, yea, it's mad late. but I've been busy. ha!

Thanks to Jason L., who curated the show for having me showcase for the second year in a row.

Surprise appearance by artist Nic Cowan and Erika G.

Constant crowd of people coming in and out.

I didn't dress up for the occasion. yea, killjoy, right? The funniest part about the night is that if you were not dressed up like a zombie well then you get harrassed by the zombies. All I kept hearing was "braaaaaaains, braaaaaains." and they act like they  were going to chase me. Like this person here (see above.)

I loved this couple and their dog. I had to take a picture.

Yesenia's piece =)

This artist was amazing. Small canvas but he painted it using toothpicks.

Black Friday Sale: DnA Creations

The Holidays are coming up and I am formulating a game plan. My friends and family have everything they ever need and for the most part we are aligned with shunning away the idea of consumerism Christmas and trying to envelope and re-embrace the Spirit of Christmas.

But I still love giving gifts.

Folks are either getting something that is either cooked/baked/painted/sculpted by me. If I were to buy anything, it would be of something that is handmade or by a local artisan.

So I am making a list of folks to turn to on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

One message I got this morning is by a wife and husband creative team called DnA Creations. They mainly make work revolving around the Mexican culture, pin-ups and Day of the Dead Memoribilia.

Until I saw the following pictures and I just completely smiled.

Now I love horror flicks; as of late, I have been watching more zombie flicks than any subgenre of the genre. I know numerous couples who would LOVE these cake toppers.

So for all my zombie-lovers, here are zombies in love...

Hiatus? BAH!

So much for a peaceful transition from being super uber busy to coccooning and laying low. I spent the first two nights of my hiatus sleeping for 14 hours. I guess that is what happens when I am hopped on caffiene in forms of French roast, green tea or yerba mate lattes; you go from Mach 3 to a crashing holt.

It's almost like my body realize it's actually okay to be sick. Well I appreciate the thoughtfulness, Body. At least you waited til I finished all my deadlines.

Still not done with downloading the pictures from Day of the Dead Artshow, Zombie Walk/Art Show and Halloween in West Hollywood.

Oh, but you know, a friend of mine suggested that I submit my latest zombie piece to Coast to Coast AM's site: apparently they have a Halloween art gallery on the website.

I did... last minute and I happen to be chosen. SO thank you Girard and thank you Coast to Coast AM for choosing my piece to be part of your gallery!

Or.......... go to http://www.zombieartshow.com  to check out the pieces from the show. You can purchase original pieces and silkscreen prints if you were not able to make it to the show.
