post thankstaking wrap-up

it's official. the holiday season. aye...

with all the good cheer and the temporary comradery also comes with the mirrored images- the greed, the self-glorification, the consumerism.

but enough of that.. balance, right?

dinner (more like lunch) at the park
after two years, i finally convinced (well, didn't take too much. she was resolved into going) to go the park and help serve the needy. for the five years that i have been going, the ratio of volunteers to people actually being served have been growing exponentially. that's good you say? well sure, but then what about the 364 days of the year when it is not thanksgiving.

and its a ferver in trying to find something to do. after minutes of sitting around the park, picking our asses, phloe and i went out and tried to find something to do. we finally got a task- putting table cloths on the tables.

we got our plastic roll of green table covering and masking tape. we proceeded to go to our first batch of tables when we met.. dum dum dum... the table cloth nazis.

this couple, apparently sitting around and picking their asses, came by and just started to help us. ok, fair enough. phloe and i were not complaining.

but why was the man just ROLLING the tables and the lady tearing us pieces of tape while phloe and i were the ones who got on our hands and knees to fit the cloth and tape it. i started laughing as i watched the dude just rolled the cloth, literally inch by inch, as if it savor the moments of volunteer time. the lady, strategically tore tape and taped them each to her digits and she spread her fingers apart as to not get them stuck together.

meanwhile, they are barking orders to phloe and i on how to tape the cloth down to effeciently cover the tables with less wrinkles.

(( dramatic pause here))

upon where i say...

FOR GODSAKES, YOU DAVID-BOWIE-STUCK-IN-THE-80'S-MEMBERS-ONLY-JACKET-WEARING-MOFO!!!! IT'S NOT PHYSICS, DIPSHIT! IT'S COVERING TABLES WITH SOME CHEAP ASS PLASTIC WRAPPER AND MASKING TAPE.

the good..and the bad... balance, baby, balance...
