lawdy lawdy lawdy
it is almost time. the artists are coming in tomorrow. paintings and sculptures will be installed. the vendor shall do their thing and sell sell sell. today, ryan and i setted up the tables, the stage, and i am left with finishing up the last minute details before the ((( ta ta TA DUUUUMMM))), the book release event starts.

every obstacle had popped up this weekend that made this journey with slight turbulence- late call backs, late confirmation from artists, lack of funds, yadda yadda yadda. but at this point, i am not going to focus on what can't happen but what will happen and that we are going to have a wonderful show!

i have worked with people with the best energy and motivation any producer asks for- paula- always down and ready to do anything (AND she is going to south america for the next few weeks the morning after the show!),ryan- never seeing the stress and refuses to let me see as well, troy- fellow graphic designer that has that eye for marketing. makes everything we do look like we hired a publicity team. kat- we work so well together. whatever i needed, she is there. vanessa- i learn from the best! ms. literary curator herself telling me to forget about the title of producer and just keep doing what i am doing. and lastly joel, man with the vision who believes in me and my capabilities.

wen says what i do is nothing new. he says i made magic happen before but this is my first huuuuuge event. a book release event that doubles as a , with vendors, an art exhibit, tattoo demonstration, performance art with headliners in the community... whoa.. (( remember to breathe)))

i am excited... i am also nervous. (( breathing)))

i am just so happy to be part of this whole event. i have a feeling i will actually miss it being involved with that event. but i know there are tons more heading my way.

and after the monster show, stay tuned for nommo, a 90.7 fm kpfk show i shall be helping wendal with on post-ethnic activism, and an art exhibit kkarma and i are collaborating on. not to mention a new job up ahead and a new outlook on love.(yes, boys and girls, alfie maybe open to settling down.)

ok, one thing at a time... my venting session is now over... onward with the show.
